Coorg – Scotland of India

16 Reasons to tell why should visit Coorg – Scotland of India

After having my recent trip to Coorg, I would like to encourage all of you to include Coorg destination during your travel to South India. Have you ever seen Blue Colour Coffee??

My first reaction as I stepped into Coorg district of Karnataka was, “Am I still in India?” A contrast of sorts, the region is very much India yet so different from any other part of the country – in terms of culture, food habits, dress and even looks.  An extremely peace-loving people, yet every house owns a gun or two. And the land has produced some of the finest soldiers, including Field Marshal K M Cariappa and General K S Thimayya.

When a place is referred to as the Scotland of India, it needs no further introduction. Coorg is a tranquil, little town in Southern Karnataka, cradled in the Western Ghats. It is famous mainly for its austere sights, varied wildlife, world-class coffee and the Kodavas, the ethnic warrior people of Coorg. Do not forget to visit :Abbi Falls, Puthari festival, Madikeri, Bylakuppe -Biggest Tibetan settlement in South India, Dubare Elephant Camp and Tadiandamol Peak. If you are planning a trip to India, we have fantastic tour programs for your holidays in India.
