Day 1- Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Upon arrival in Delhi an included transfer will take you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at your own leisure. Overnight: Delhi

Day 2- Old & New Delhi

This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi, taking in the Jama Masjid – India’s oldest and largest mosque and Raj Ghat – the site of Gandhi’s cremation in Old Delhi, and the Rajpath and India Gate in New Delhi. Tonight, we enjoy a Namaste Dinner at a restaurant specialising in Indian cuisine. Overnight: Delhi  |  Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3- Jaipur – the Pink City!

Delhi – Jaipur. Today we drive to Jaipur. Affectionately known as the Pink City because Maharaja Ram Singh had the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. This afternoon we enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar – an ancient yet cleverly designed space observatory. Watch out for snake charmers along the way. Overnight: Jaipur  |  Breakfast

Day 4- The lofty Amber Fort

Early-risers can opt for a morning hot air balloon ride over Jaipur, and sail over hilltop forts, regal palaces, sleepy villages, and stone carved temples. Then we travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort – a sprawling Rajput construction, perched on a hillside overlooks the dusty plains below. Before returning to Jaipur we stop at a cotton weaving house to see a demonstration of fabric dyeing and block printing. Overnight: Jaipur  |  Breakfast

Day 5 India celebrates Holi

Jaipur – Bharatpur. Friday 02 March 2018. It’s an early start today as the festivities of Holi bring thousands of people out onto the streets in a dazzling display of colour and good cheer. Celebrated every year in February or March, the ancient Hindu festival of Holi originated as a celebration of the end of winter and beginning of spring in honour of Prahlada, who was protected from the flames by Vishnu when he was tricked to his near death by his father King Hiranyakashipu.

Today Holi is a time when Indians across the nation gather together with family, friends and neighbours to throw powder bombs, fire water pistols and splash coloured water as they run through the streets. Shops and businesses close down for the day, and on the eve of the celebrations a bonfire is held to remember the story of Prahlada and Vishnu. While this is the most believed story, the myths and legends that surround Holi differ around the country, but the basic principle remains the same. Holi is meant to symbolise the triumph of good over evil, the importance of love and of happiness, and supports the formation of new friendships.

Leaving our hotel, we’ll drive to Bharatpur. Upon arrival, we can watch from a safe distance or get involved with the Holi celebrations taking place on the hotel lawn. For those wanting to get involved we’ll be providing white kurta pyjamas for you to wear and organic colours for you to throw. In this game of cat and mouse, stealth and the art of surprise will serve you well. After a bombardment of powder bombs and shower of water in every imaginable colour, there is time for lunch before we head off to Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we’ll enjoy a leisurely bicycle rickshaw ride through the park. Overnight: Bharatpur  |  Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6- Taj Mahal

Bharatpur – Agra. En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water. In Agra, we visit the impressive Agra Fort before touring the legendary Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz, who tragically died in childbirth in 1631, the Taj Mahal is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love and remains one of India’s most enduring symbols. Overnight: Agra  |  Breakfast

Days 7-8 Onward to Delhi

Agra – Delhi. After breakfast, we return to Delhi, the latter part of the afternoon is free for you to relax or independently explore more of Delhi. Opt for a meal in the heart of the city or simply relax and chat with group members at the hotel. The following day, Monday 5 March 2018, our tour concludes after breakfast. Goodbye India! Day 11: Dehradun – Rishikesh – Hunal Village 
After breakfast drive to Hunal village via Rishikesh, this drive will take approx 03 hrs. Arrive at the Camp. Evening at leisure at the bank of mighty River Ganga. Dinner & Overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 12: Full Day Fishing
Breakfast at camp. Drive to fishing beats. Full day fishing at River Ganga with packed lunch. Evening return back to the camp for Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 14: Hunal Village – Rishikesh
This day of the trip is more exciting and interesting. Morning season for fishing at River Ganges. After lunch enjoy rafting till Rishikesh on Ganges. On arrival at Rishikesh transfer to the hotel. Evening Aarti Darshan at Rishikesh. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 15: Rishikesh – Delhi – Departure 
Morning at leisure, after breakfast drive back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi transfer to International airport to board the flight for home country.

Day 01                                    To Delhi

Meeting, assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel by a private-chauffeur driven, air-conditioned car. Check-in at Hotel Vivanta by Taj Dwarka for 2 nights (Superior Charm Room).

(Delhi has seen the rise and fall of many empires and each dynasty of Kings has left behind monuments and memories to commemorate the grandeur of bygone days.  Very few cities in the world offer such diversity in architectural styles as Delhi. The Old city of Delhi today stands as an epitome of the whole history of Indo-Islamic architecture).

Afternoon enjoy sightseeing of Old Delhi including an exhilarating cycle rickshaw ride to the Jama Masjid through the bustling Chandni Chowk and it’s back roads, which were the centre of the city Shah Jehanabad in the Mughal times. Finally continue onto the Raj Ghat- Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation site, before returning to the hotel.

Day 03                                    Delhi

Morning drawing and painting at India Gate and in the National Museum with our expert Surat, which affords opportunity to see more of the cultural and historic riches of the whole of India and the space to look learn and draw in a different atmosphere.

Late Afternoon sightseeing of dynamic New Delhi including the impressive Humayun’s Tomb. Drive past the Parliament Houses and New Delhi.

Day 04                                    Agra

Morning drive to Agra (approximately 3 hrs driving time). Check-in at Hotel Crystal Sarovar Premier for 1 night. ( Modern Hotel; Taj facing Room).

(Agra grew in prominence under the rule of the Mughal Empire in 1526, reaching its zenith between 1556 and 1658, under the successive rules of Akbar, Shah Jehan and Jehangir.  Akbar’s reign was memorable in the city’s history when it became a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture, drawing intellectuals and artists to its Darbars and Havelis).

After breakfast proceed for Agra sightseeing tour visiting The Agra Fort- seeing the many varied architectural styles of the complex, built by successive Moghul rulers & the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula.

(The Tomb of Itmad-ud-Duala is situated opposite the Taj Mahal, on the other side of the River Yamuna, and houses a magnificent mausoleum of Ghias Beg, the father of Empress Noor Jehan).

(The Red Fort or Agra Fort, on the banks of the River Yamuna, is surrounded by high red sandstone walls. It was built by successive emperors from the 1570s and combines Akbar’s walls and tiled gates with Shah Jehan’s delicate Pearl Mosque and once-elegant palace. Other attractions here include The Diwan-i-Am, the Diwan-i-Khaas and Jodhabai’s Palace).

Day 05                                    To Jaipur

Early morning enjoy breathtaking sunrise view of Taj Mahal and prepare painting of World famous Taj Mahal with our expert Surat.

(The 17th century Taj Mahal is a marble mausoleum built by Shah Jehan for his Empress Mumtaz Mahal.  The construction is believed to have taken 22 years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. However many images you may have seen of the Taj Mahal, the reality is still breathtaking, its scale stupendous and its surface ever changing with the light).

Afternoon drive to Jaipur (approximately 5 hrs driving time). Check-in at Hotel Shahpura House for 2 nights. (Standard Grade Royal Residence; Suite Room).

(Jaipur designed by a young Bengali architect in 1727, it is the only city in the world symbolising the nine divisions of he universe. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of

India.  Palaces, Forts and sublime architecture with a strong influence of Hindu, Jain and Mughal styles make Jaipur most interesting. Colourful bazaars and warm people are the pride of Jaipur).

Day 06                                    Jaipur

Morning excursion to Amber Fort where you will ascend this hilltop Fort on elephant back and do painting near Amber Fort with our expert Surat.

(The 10th century Amber Fort is ringed by hills, with ramparts guarding all approaches and watchtowers set at strategic points. Windows pierce the high walls at points impossible to break in from the outside, and staircases are deliberately narrow so that they could be held by a single warrior allowing members of the royal family and the army to flee to more strategic locations. Of special interest in the fort is the Sheesh Mahal or Hall of Mirrors. It is a sumptuous apartment made opulent through tiny mirrors studded into its walls and ceiling. It glows like a jewelled cavern in the early morning or evening light, but with all doors closed and a candle lit at its centre, transports you into the heart of a diamond).

If time permits, you can visit city Palace.

Day 07                                    To Mandawa

Morning drive to Mandawa (approximately 3 hrs driving time). Check-in at Castle Mandawa for 2 nights (Standard Grade Heritage Hotel; Standard Room).

(A pretty little town located just 168 Kms from Jaipur, Mandawa features some beautiful pieces of art and architecture. Mandawa is also known as the fort town, and offers good connectivity to other towns and cities throughout Rajasthan. The town is also referred to as an open art gallery, as it is dotted with several havelis featuring luxury paintings. The frescos on the havelis are colourful and many of them have religious depictions. Some of the most prominent havelis in Mandawa include Chokhani and Ladia Havelis, Binsidhar Newatia Haveli and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli. These havelis boast of unique art and architectural designs from the previous eras. The main feature about all the Mandawa havelis are the colourful paintings. These paintings are well maintained and quite colourful. The Mandawa havelis are some of the best examples of traditional architecture and art in the entire region of Shekhawati.)

Day 09                                    To Bikaner

Morning drive to Bikaner (approximately 4 hrs driving time). Check-in at Bhanwar Niwas for 1 night (Heritage Hotel; Deluxe Room).

(Bikaner lies in the Thar Desert and is India’s camel capital. Its location on the caravan route to Central Asia made it a great trading centre. Towering dramatically over the town is the impressive Junagarh Fort. Inside this mammoth that was never conquered are 37 palaces, private temples and pavilions, an architectural range that is immaculately conserved. Projecting balconies, latticed screens and ariel windows add grace to the façade).

Day 10                                    To Jaisalmer

Morning drive to Jaisalmer (approximately 6 hrs driving time). Check-in at Hotel Rawalkot for 2 nights (First Class Modern Hotel; Standard Room).

(The Golden City of Jaisalmer rises up from the surrounding desert like a giant sandcastle. Founded in 1156, this ancient city lies in the heart of the Thar Desert with its imposing golden-hued fortress, with its carved spires and palaces, overlooking the town. Extraordinarily 5000 people live in the fort as they did centuries ago. Perched on a hill, the fort is protected by a 30 feet high wall. Two great gateways pierce the

towered battlements of the 12th century citadel where inside are a web of tiny lanes with Jain and Hindu temples and charming havelis. One of the last princely bastions, the remote settlement of Jaisalmer came to be celebrated for the valour of its rulers and for the aesthetic sense represented by their Palaces and Havelis (mansions). The rich merchants engaged stone-craftsmen, who worked with great delicacy on the sandstone mansions they built, filling up facades with sculptural filigree, screen windows, delicate pavilions and beautiful balconies. Jaisalmer is also an ideal place for embarking on a camel safari).

Day 11                                    Jaisalmer

Morning enjoy painting of local bazaar with our painting expert.

Afternoon excursion to visit Sam Sand Dunes to view the sunset. Also enjoy a camel ride at Sam and enjoy painting with our painting expert.

Day 12                                    To Jodhpur

Morning drive to Jodhpur (approximately 5 hrs driving time). Check-in at Ratan Vilas for 2 nights (Heritage hotel; Courtyard superior room).

(Jodhpur is one of the most distinctive among Rajasthan’s many princely 500 year old settlements.  Located on the fringe of the Thar Desert, it is known for its impressive fortified bastions in Mehrangarh, built in 1459,  which have witnessed many battles, and which encompasses the beautiful Moti Mahal (Pearl Palace) and Phool Mahal (Flower Palace). The Umaid Bhawan Palace (and Museum) holds one in awe due to its grandeur and symmetry. It is built in an Art Deco style of architecture without using any cement in its construction. The museum has a collection of royal finery, local arts and crafts, miniature paintings and a large number of clocks Jaswant Thada is a royal marble crematorium built in 1899 and is constructed out of thin sheets of marble to allow the sun to filter through).

Day 13                                    Jodhpur

Full day free for painting with our painting expert of 15th c. Meherangarh Fort soaring above the city, with its delightful insight into the life and times of the ruling family. Also visit the quiet Jaswant Thada – a marble memorial built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.

Day 14                                    To Udaipur via Ranakpur

Morning drive to Udaipur (approximately 3 hrs driving time), en-route visit the famous Ranakpur Jain Temples.

(Ranakpur Temples are beautifully sculptured Jain temples that were constructed in 15th century. The main temple in the complex has been beautifully crafted in marble and has 1,444 pillars of which no two are alike).

(Cradled in green hills and surrounded by lakes, Udaipur with its marble palaces, is romantic and is referred to as the “Venice of the East”. It was founded in the 16th Century and has elaborately planned gardens and island palaces that sparkle on artificial lakes).

Full day free to do painting of City Palace Museum, Sahelion-ki-Bari and the Jagdish temple with our painting expert.

(The City Palace Museum built in 1725 is the largest is Rajasthan and famous for its ornate decorations . Its white exterior weathered to ivory, stands on a ridge overlooking the lake. The sprawling structure has preserved its harmonious design, enhanced by massive octagonal towers surmounted by cupolas and connected by a maze of narrow passageways. The rooms of the palace contain beautiful paintings, colourful enamel, inlay glasswork, and antique furniture. The City Palace is actually one of a complex of palaces, two of which have been converted to hotels and one of which houses the current Maharaja).

(Sahelion-ki-Bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour) is a beautiful garden with colourful fountains having its carved pavilions an monolithic marble elephants. In the 189th Century, men were forbidden in this garden, where their queens and their ladies-in-waiting came to relax, though the king still found his way in).

Evening enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride to see the devotees offering prayers on Ghats.

After breakfast explore Agra Fort seeing the many varied architectural styles of the complex, built by successive Mughul rulers. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah.

(The 17th century Taj Mahal is a marble mausoleum built by Shah Jehan for his Empress Mumtaz Mahal.  The construction is believed to have taken 22 years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. However many images you may have seen of the Taj Mahal, the reality is still breathtaking, its scale stupendous and its surface ever changing with the light).

(The Red Fort or Agra Fort, on the banks of the River Yamuna, is surrounded by high red sandstone walls. It was built by successive emperors from the 1570s and combines Akbar’s walls and tiled gates with Shah Jehan’s delicate Pearl Mosque and once-elegant palace. Other attractions here include The Diwan-i-Am, the Diwan-i-Khaas and Jodhabai’s Palace).

(The Tomb of Itmad-ud-Duala is situated opposite the Taj Mahal, on the other side of the River Yamuna, and houses a magnificent mausoleum of Ghias Beg, the father of Empress Noor Jehan).

Day 10                                    To Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

Morning drive to Jaipur (approximately 6 hrs driving time), en-route visiting the deserted mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri.

(Fatehpur Sikri, about 37kms from Agra, was one of the capital cities of the Emperor Akbar, and derives its name from the fact that Akbar marched from here and conquered Gujarat in 1652. The city is rectangular in shape with nine huge Darwazas or gates. The whole complex is made of red sandstone and is an architectural masterpiece, which has been declared a world heritage site. Also situated here is the tomb of the famous Sufi Saint, Skeikh Salim Chisti).

Morning excursion to Amber Fort where you will ascend this hilltop Fort on elephant back.

(The 10th century Amber Fort is ringed by hills, with ramparts guarding all approaches and watchtowers set at strategic points. Windows pierce the high walls at points impossible to break in from the outside, and staircases are deliberately narrow so that they could be held by a single warrior allowing members of the royal family and the army to flee to more strategic locations of special interest in the fort is the Sheesh Mahal or Hall of Mirrors. It is a sumptuous apartment made opulent through tiny mirrors studded into its walls and ceiling. It glows like a jewelled cavern in the early morning or evening light, but with all doors closed and a candle lit at its centre, transports you into the heart of a diamond).

Afternoon sightseeing of Jaipur visiting the Palace of Winds, City Palace Complex and the Jantar Mantar Observatory.

Day 12                                    To Deogarh

Morning drive to Deogarh (approximately 6 hrs driving time). Check-in at Deogarh Mahal Palace for 2 nights (Standard Grade Heritage Hotel; Standard Room).

(Deogarh Mahal was converted into a hotel by the present owner Rawat Nahar Singh. A part of the Mahal is still occupied by his king. (The City Palace Museum built in 1725 is the largest is Rajasthan and famous for its ornate decorations . Its white exterior weathered to ivory, stands on a ridge overlooking the lake. The sprawling structure has preserved its harmonious design, enhanced by massive octagonal towers surmounted by cupolas and connected by a maze of narrow passageways. The rooms of the palace contain beautiful paintings, colourful enamel, inlay glasswork, and antique furniture. The City Palace is actually one of a complex of palaces, two of which have been converted to hotels and one of which houses the current Maharaja).

(Sahelion-ki-Bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour) is a beautiful garden with colourful fountains having its carved pavilions an monolithic marble elephants. In the 189th Century, men were forbidden in this garden, where their queens and their ladies-in-waiting came to relax, though the king still found his way in).

A Unique, Quaint and Peculiar Indian Rabari community for You, Foreign TV Channels and Media….

Goingindiaa is always working very hard to show unique, quaint and peculiar people, culture, traditions, ritual and lifestyle etc to the world. This time we are inviting you, foreign TV channels and other media to come down India for a unique and fantastic shoot about Indian Rabari Community. This rehabilitation society has not been able to change the time since the human settlement. Rebari is spread across the whole of India! Especially in North, Pashwim and Central India! But since the beginning of the main occupation of animal husbandry and a nomadic life (illusory).

Places to be cover during shoot:    Poni ki Bagli, Makroda, Sirohi, Viroli & Mundara Mata Ji.

During my recent trip to Rajasthan, I found this interesting community who :

  • Travel in group and take their animals (camel, cows, goat and sheep) with them.
  • They travel 50 to 80 Km per day during summer time and cover 3000-4000 Km.
  • How they survive and arrange their food during travel, this will be very interesting to find out.

I am very keen to show this very interesting, fantastic and unique rich and old culture to the world. This caste is innocent and the habitation of the god dwells in it, or as a descendant of God, it is also known as Devi’s name!

They have a caste council called Nyat that controls matters related to their community. The Rabari social organization is characterized by the clan system, locally called Ataks. In Rajasthan the Rabari wear colourful dresses, while the Gujarati Rabari prefers white garments. They are good at the traditional art of cloth embroidery. They marry within their community. The Rabari tend sheep, goats and camels. Most of the Rabari are vegetarian while some are non-vegetarian; their everyday diet consists of homemade bread of millet or wheat and jowar. Child marriage is common; however adult marriages are also performed through negotiation. Remarriage is permitted for both the widow and widower. They maintain only putative kinship with others. The Rabari live in joint families. Children are also engaged in their primary occupation. The dead are cremated.

It was written in Bombay in 1901 that the “Bombay Gazetteer” has found that the physical strength of the Rebario seems to be possible that they may also be “Persian” descendants, and they have come from Persia to India, because the Rebearium is named as a ‘fire’! And the Persians are worshipers of ‘Fire-fire’!

In fact, College Street is widely referred to as the second largest second-hand book market in the world where, if you search properly, you’ll be able to find the first edition of even the rarest of the rare books! Kutch People:District is inhabited by various groups and communities. One can findvarious nomadic, semi nomadic and artisan groups living in Kutch. Gujarati Ahirs comprise a comparatively large group in Kutch.

Effective houses in Earthquake:Due to the type of collapse, these houses are quite safe. The Bhonga is a traditional construction type in the Kutch district of the Gujarat state in India, which has a very high earthquake risk. A Bhonga consists of a single cylindrically shaped room.• The Bhonga has a conical roof supported by cylindrical walls. Bhonga construction has existed for several hundred years. This type of house is quite durable and appropriate for prevalent desert condition.
