Delhi-Jodhpur-Udaipur-Delhi
Join us on a journey of creativity and exploration! See and paint the Forts Palaces and People of Colourful Rajasthan. Hear the music, see the dancers, talk about the poetry and learn a little more how to interpret them in your own special way.
Non Painting partners are most welcome on the tour and they will find plenty of sightseeing opportunities in Rajasthan.
The Itinerary:
Day 1.Departure from your home country.
Departure from your home country to Delhi.
Day 2. Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Transfer to Taj Ambassador Hotel. Stay 3 nights. Afternoon visit of Old Delhi, visit Jama Masjid and Ghandi Museum.
Day 3. Delhi
Morning tour of New Delhi includes QutubMinar, Humayun’s Tomb and leyten’s Delhi. Plenty of subjects to draw and paint.Evening visit of the Shrine of Sufi Saint.HazratNizamuddin to attend a Sufi music recital “Qawali”.
Day 4. Delhi
Day painting at India Gate and drawing in the National Museum, which affords opportunity to see more of the cultural and historic riches of the whole of India and the space to look learn and draw in a different atmosphere. (or, an optional day visit to see Taj Mahal- Agra)*
Day 5. On board Train to Jodhpur
Day at leisure or optional sightseeing/ shopping. Early evening transfer to railway station for your overnight train journey in first class air-conditioned sleeper to Jodhpur. Overnight on board train.
Day 6. Jodhpur
Morning arrival in the blue city of Jodhpur. Relax for the morning in Ajit Bhawan Palace Hotel. Afternoon city tour of 15th C Mehrangrah Fort which dominates the city. Drawing and painting of course, and then a Tonga ride home. Stay at Ajit Bhawan for 4 nights.
Day 7. Jodhpur
Morning visit to a village to meet environmentally conscious Bishnois – a local tribe. We will be able to sit and draw in the village, which offers us a different kind of subject – rural people and their landscape.
Day 8. Jodhpur
Visit of UmaidBahwan Palace Museum and painting. Evening rooftop dinner at Pal Ki Haveli.
Day 9. Jodhpur
Day at leisure to rest and relax or visit the craft market of Jodhpur.
Day 10. To Udaipur
Reluctantly leave Jodhpur for the marble wonder of the Ranakpur Jain Temples, which is surrounded by forest and the AravaliHils. Here we will lunch rest and paint. Then on to Udaipur. Stay at Fatehgrah Palace for 4 nights.
Day 11. Udaipur
Explore Udaipur- the city of the Lakes, visits to the City Palace museum, the lakeside Bagore Ki Haveli and the legendry Gardens of the Maidens of Honour, lotus pools and “musical” fountains!
Day 12. Udaipur
Morning painting at the city palace. Evening sunset cruise on Lake Pichola.
Day 13. Udaipur
Day at leisure- evening farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 14. To your home country
