The best way to enjoy a calm, serene life in the hills is to visit a village and be hosted by a local family. To make you better understand more about this kind of life, we suggest a totally different itinerary for you. Drive to Dhami, about 30 kilometres to the west of Shimla, on the Shimla Mandi Road. After driving for about 26 kilometres you will reach a place called Sola Meel (sixteen miles), as Shimla is 16 miles from this place, a reference commonly used in the yesteryears, and still followed by the locals to direct you to these landmarks.
